    WALORSKI HONORS INDIANA FIRST RESPONDERS

(L to R): Rochester Fire Chief Butler, Mayor Smiley, Jackie Walorski, and Members of Rochester Police Department

Elkhart, IN- Reaffirming her commitment to Indiana’s dedicated first responders, Republican Congressional Candidate Jackie Walorski (IN-02) spent time this week visiting local public safety stations in the second district.

“I am honored to spend time visiting first responders in our district, especially as we call to mind the tragic events of the September 11th attacks,” said Walorski.  “As the daughter of a firefighter, I am humbled by their bravery and appreciate the opportunity to express my gratitude for their commitment to our communities.”

Walorski toured public safety stations in Winamac, Peru and Rochester to take a closer look at each facility’s operation and equipment that is used to protect Hoosier communities.  At every location, Walorski asked police and firemen questions about their needs and concerns for the future of pubic safety in Indiana.

“As a police officer in North-Central Indiana, I have contacted Jackie with various issues over the years.  Jackie has continually displayed a willingness to make herself directly available to me,” said South Bend Police Officer Chris Slager.

City Mayors Mark Smiley and Jim Walker accompanied Walorski in Rochester and Peru during her visits.  The congressional candidate will also speak to Elkhart County First Responders and members of the Armed Services later today at the Patriot Day Ceremony at Wakarusa Memorial Park in remembrance of the September 11th Anniversary.
