South Bend, IN- Jackie Walorksi announced today that she will report having raised more than $225,000 for her campaign for Congress during the 2nd quarter of 2011, and has more than $267,000 cash on hand.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support from Hoosiers across the 2nd district,” said Walorski. “This is proof positive that our message of restoring fiscal sanity to Washington, and getting our economy back on track is resonating with voters.”
Walorski’s report will be filed with the Federal Elections Commission by July 15. Walorski has received donations from every county in Indiana’s 2nd District, and has nearly 1,000 donors so far this election cycle.
“As a lifelong Hoosier, I am committed to ensuring the voters of the 2nd District have a representative who will listen to, and vote for them,” said Walorski. “I am confident our fundraising success will make certain we have the resources to share our vision with voters.”
Despite entering the race very late last election cycle, Jackie was able to raise $1.3 million dollars and amass an army of more than 3,000 volunteers in just nine months, making her race one of the closest in the country. Joe Donnelly, the incumbent has announced he will not seek reelection to Congress, and Roll Call made it the first House race this cycle they predicted as likely to flip to Republicans.
