As a small business owner, I am thankful that my employees and I can be celebrating another National Small Business Week. We have worked hard to weather this economic downturn and have spent time reinventing the way we do business so that we can continue to work hard for other families across the area.

Other small business owners whom I have talked to recently have said that their No. 1 fear is government uncertainty and I agree. The rules and regulations coming out of Washington, D.C., are making it difficult to figure out our business tax structure and how we will handle new governmental mandates.

This uncertainty is hurting job creators and entrepreneurs across Indiana and the country. The top down Washington way is hurting our economic recovery. We need leaders in Washington who will start on day one to restore certainty to small businesses and unleash the innovative and creative engines of our economy. We need Jackie Walorski. As north-central Indiana's independent voice, I know Jackie will take common-sense Hoosier solutions to Washington and restore certainty to our economy.
