Last week videos surfaced online depicting a Planned Parenthood employee discussing fetal dismemberment and allegedly selling unborn children’s organs and limbs. I was absolutely sickened to hear about this.
As Americans, one of the most fundamental values that unites us is respect for life. In fact, this value is ingrained in our country’s founding documents as the constitutional right to life and liberty. I’ve always believed that being pro-life is more than just being against abortion, it’s about promoting a culture of life and love for our fellow men and women. That’s why I was outraged to learn about the uncovering of horrific acts by Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider. It’s completely inhumane that anyone would want to profit from the death of children, first by dismembering them then selling their organs piece by piece.
I immediately called on Congress to investigate and ensure this ends immediately. Since then, a congressional investigation has been started.
Since I was first elected as a state representative, I’ve supported pro-life legislation to prohibit any tax dollars from going to organizations, like Planned Parenthood, that provide abortions. I’ve supported policies to strengthen families, help mothers and children, and protect the unborn.
All life is precious and worth living. I believe it’s my responsibility to speak for those with no voice. I will continue to fight for people of the Second District, including the most vulnerable.
